Bible
The 66 books of the Old and New Testament are the inspired and inerrant Word of God in their original writings. By the power of the Holy Spirit, God inspired the prophets, apostles and evangelists to pen the very words of these books. The early church decided which books were actually penned by authors appointed by God. Early Christians were nearly unanimous in their agreement as to which books belonged. If they did not include certain books, and there were many false writings floating around, it was for a good reason. The entire Bible has the same message. Though God created a perfect world, humans rebelled against God. Though we are sinners deserving of God's punishment, God sent a Savior in the person of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived the perfect life , we should have lived, and died the death we deserved to die, paying for our sins, and granting the gift of eternal life to all who believe.
