We Look Forward To Meeting You!

We’ve put together some information here that anticipates and tries to briefly answer some of the questions you may have prior to visiting our church for the first time:

Atmosphere

We consider it a blessing when folks check us out and join us for worship for the first time. We consider ourselves a mission congregation, in that we are a smaller group We hope  you feel relaxed and comfortable.  Our music and worship are built around Biblical themes that are timeless.  We are glad to have you join us in worship!

Family Friendly

No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at Peace Lutheran Church and we're excited for you to consider being a part of our church family! Our intent is to serve the whole family.  If needed by parents with young children, we  have a family room located at the back of church where our worship can be both seen and heard.  But otherwise, we WELCOME children to be part of our worship.

Sermon

From the pulpit you will hear sound expository preaching based upon a text from Scripture.  The focus of each sermon is normally based upon one of the several Bible lessons that we read in worship.  We normally read a portion of the Psalms, Old Testament, Epistle, and Gospel during worship.

Biblical Teaching

We place a high priority on the right and pure preaching and teaching of God's Word.  In worship, we use,  we use a three-year selection of readings.  What that means is this.  If you gather in worship with us for three years of Sundays, you will have heard most of the key Psalms, and Epistle lessons and all of the unique Gospel readings from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  That depth of reading of Scripture is almost unknown in most churches.  Lutheran sermons are a balance of both Law and Gospel.  What does that mean?  The Law reminds us how, despite our best intentions, we fall short of what God tells us to do or not do.  The Law reminds us that we are sinners in need of a Savior.   The Gospel, on the other hand, is the telling of the good news, that Jesus Christ has done what we are unable to do.  Jesus lived the perfect life we should have lived.  He also died the death that we deserved to die, so that we can know for certain that our sins are forgiven in the sight of God.  Other opportunities exist beyond Sunday worship.  Our Adult Bible Class meets immediately after worship in the Fellowship Hall.  A Vespers service (brief evening devotion of Scripture and hymns) is available to those who are interested on Wednesday evenings.
